CalFresh Benefits

About CalFresh

CalFresh also known federally as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP is a FREE nutrition assistance program that helps boost food budgets for low-income individuals and families. Food benefits for one person ranges between $15 to $204. Benefits are based on your household size, income, and monthly expenses. 

Eligibility:

WHO CAN APPLY:

- Lawful Permanent Residents who have low or no income

- Seniors (60+)

- Disabled People

- Students of higher education

- SSI Recipients

** Seniors and adults with disabilities can apply as a separate/own household.

** There are special rules  and deductions for households with a member who has a disability or is 60 years and older.

NECESSARY DOCUMENTS & INFORMATION:

  • Valid form of identification

  • Proof of income for the last 30 days such as paystubs, bank statements, retirement

statements or award letters 

  • Social Security Numbers, if applicable

  • Proof of housing and utility expenses

  • Medical bills and receipts of expenses for persons who are 60+ yrs. old and/or

have permanent disabilities

  • Proof of childcare or adultcare expenses, if applicable

  • Through your local county Human Services Agency offices

  • Get assistance from a Bayanihan Equity Center's Community Service Worker by calling (415)-255-2347
