Addressing the Needs of Older Adults and Adults with Disabilities
BEC's Community Services Program serves San Francisco older adults (60+ years old) and adults with disabilities by providing a wraparound services through case management and social activities.


Case Management
BEC provides one-on-one assistance for individuals in areas such as housing referrals, home visits, food assistance, accompaniment to MediCal/ Social Security Administration appointments, burial and funeral arrangements and reimbursements, transportation assistance, employment referrals, special power of attorney, and etc.

Social Activities
BEC convenes seniors and adults with disabilities through activities designed to focus on education and wellness in the community. Activities are planned and based on consumer needs and interests, with the intent of developing a sense of community amongst consumers. We host activities such as arts and crafts, monthly bingo, field trips, and many more.

Community Choir
Every Wednesday, 2:00-3:30 PM
In partnership with the Community Music Center, BEC hosts a tuition-free choir for older adults. Participation in musical activity aims to provide personal, social, artistic and quality of life benefits. No prior singing experience is needed to join.

Beginner Mahjong
First & Third Tuesday, 1:30-3:30 PM
Mahjong offers cognitive stimulation, enhanced memory, better hand-eye coordination, and fosters social connection in a culturally-relevant activity. BEC staff support clients in learning the game, so no previous experience required.

Bingo Birthday Bash
Every Last Friday, 1:30-3:30 PM
A monthly occasion where participants celebrate milestones in their lifetime with others. Participants play free bingo, dance, and are provided with light refreshments.

Arts & Crafts
Schedule Varies
The Arts and Crafts provides a variety of choices like karaoke, knitting, crocheting, jewelry making, gardening and latern/parol making. This provides an avenue for clients to engage themselves in a positive outlet for expression and creativity.

Field Trips
Schedule Varies
Field trips provide an opportunity for clients to explore new places and socialize with one another. Location of trips vary. Previous field trips have included the Asian Art Museum, Presidio Tunnel Tops, AT&T Park, and the Japanese Tea Garden.
