For Veterans Day Parade this year, scores of students and community members joined our contingent, volunteered, and marched with our Veterans’ cable car trolley. This marked the first time that our organization participated in the annual parade as Bayanihan Equity Center, and we were delighted to share this milestone with our community. We hope to continue providing intergenerational experiences, honoring our veterans, and are thankful for the outpour of support from Bay Area students. Maraming Salamat to the students of Kasamahan of University of San Francisco for upholding the generous tradition of providing breakfast and lunch for the veterans; to students of Pilipino American Collegiate Endeavor, Kappa Psi Epsilon, and Chi Ro Omicron of San Francisco State University; and to our BEC volunteers and interns. Last but not least, Maraming Salamat to all the Veterans and Veterans’ surviving families for joining us every year to carry on the legacy of the Filipino World War II Veterans. BEC continues to raise funds for the Congressional Gold Medal through the Brown Ribbon Campaign, and accept donations as well.
