In April 2019, SOMCAN set forth an appeal against proposed plans for luxury housing at 190 Russ, which would cast a shadow over Victoria Manalo Draves Park. Compared to other neighborhoods and districts in San Francisco, District 6 has the fewest green parks in the city. Not only is this housing unaffordable for families who live in SoMa, the shadow will be detrimental to our open green space at VMD park, where our families and children play. Following hundreds of public comments at City Hall, the appeal won!
