Barrio Fiesta 2018

Lets look back at one of our beloved events!

In May 2015, the Bayanihan Equity Center (formerly known as Veterans Equity Center) in collaboration with South of Market organizations and individuals launched the return of the Barrio Fiesta to the SoMa community, in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary of the Gene Friend Recreation Center. In 2016, Barrio Fiesta dedicated the community celebration to the establishment of the Filipino Cultural Heritage District: SoMa Pilipinas.

Barrio Fiesta 2018 continued to showcase dancing and singing talents of both the SoMa seniors and youth, food demonstrations and tasting, Filipino games, and performances of local artists, in addition to the pig-roasting tradition of past fiestas.
