Although we moved Barrio Fiesta indoors due to a rainstorm, we still had over 200 attendees and 40 volunteers. Barrio Fiesta featured a multi-generational line-up of performances by Galing Bata, Doble Bara, Mavy E, Canon Kip Seniors, the Community Music Center Older Adult Choir at BEC, and Tony Robles. Barrio Fiesta also honored recently-retired Rita Bambilla, for 19 years of community service to the SoMa community. Bindlestiff Studio was also honored for reaching their 30th anniversary, as one of the only Filipino theaters in the United States. We loved seeing all the families, youth, and familiar faces from around the neighborhood, and we look forward to more Barrio Fiestas in the future!
